About Wissotzky

Wissotzky Tea is a brand of tea founded in 1849 in Russia. The brand has since relocated to Israel, and is the largest tea company based in Israel. Wissotzky's first plant in Israel was opened in 1936. In the U.S. their offices are based in Hainesport, NJ.

The company claims to be "The most revered and hard to pronounce name in Tea." This claim may be more true when comparing to British companies than comparing to companies based in China and other non-Western countries.

Although it is best known as an Israeli brand and most widely available there, Wissotzsky tea is also available in a number of other countries, throughout Europe and occasionally in the U.S.

As is the case with many multinational tea brands, the product offerings of Wissotzsky differ somewhat in different regions.

Wild Berries

Style: Fruit (Herbal) Tea – Region: ?????
Sep. 13th, 2020

Ingredients: hibiscus, rosehip, blackberry, raspberry, salka, lemon, black currant, raspberry and wildberries flavors.

Aroma: Dry tea has a strong,...

Picture of English Breakfast (Black Tea Signature Collection)

This has a pleasant, earthy aroma that fades too quickly once you drink it. I was let down by the fairly bland taste. It's labeled as a blend of Ceylon and Indian teas; the Ceylon taste comes through the strongest and there isn't much to it past that.

It's acceptable with some additions, but I doubt I'd get it agai...

Nana Mint with Ginger and Lemon

Style: Herbal Tea – Region: Blend
Nov. 2nd, 2018

The tea's aroma is an almost equal balance of spearmint ("Nana Mint") and ginger. The mint is of good quality, with no stems apparent and no off flavors that are sometimes apparent in cheaper mint teas. Unfortunately, Wissotzky seems to have decided that all of their herbal teas, including this one, need to be sweetene...

Spiced Citrus Nana Mint

The dry tea is pungent, smelling of both spearmint and peppermint with a hint of cinnamon. Adding water intensifies the aroma without really changing the balance. With the first taste, I realized that this tea is all about the mint. It's definitely high quality; while cheaper mint often tastes of stems and hay, there'...

Raspberry Tea

Style: Flavored Black Tea – Region: Blend
Mar. 1st, 2015

nice raspberry smell of decent strength, taste is slightly musty, although this teabag is fairly old....taste is medium strength and with a tinge of lemony bitterness at the end...I really like to try this again with a newer bag...cool red color to this tea though!
